You know your place. You could probably drive every fence line blindfolded. But when somebody asks how many head are on the south 40, how long that group of yearlings has been on the creek bottom, or what you spent on fertilizer last spring — that's when things get fuzzy.

Cattle360's Pastures feature turns your land management into something you can actually see, search, and act on.

Setting Up Your Pastures

For each pasture, create a record with a name, pasture type (improved, native, hay meadow), and acres.

Mapping: Draw Your Fence Lines on Satellite Imagery

Open any pasture, click Edit, switch to the Map section, and trace your boundary on satellite imagery. You get a visual reference, a map preview tile, automatic county detection, and stored center-point coordinates.

Moving Animals: Track Who's Where

Assign animals to pastures from the animal record or the pasture view. The system records turn-in dates, deactivates previous assignments, and tracks days in pasture — building a complete movement history over time.

Bull Turn-In and Removal

Dedicated actions for turning bulls in and removing them from pastures with date tracking. These dates drive breeding records and due-date calculations.

Crops and Maintenance

Record what's planted in each pasture and log maintenance activities (fertilizing, spraying, mowing, fencing) with dates, amounts, cost per acre, and notes.

Tips

  • Move animals the day you move them.
  • Map every pasture, even small ones.
  • Record bull turn-in and removal dates precisely.
  • Log maintenance costs consistently.
  • Use pasture-based Smart Groups.
